Japan is not all big cities and temples. There are many interesting places in central Japan to explore.

Takayama, referred to as "Little Kyoto," has worked very hard to maintain its history and culture through the preservation of its old structures. It offers a relaxing environment in which to walk around. The thatched roof local village of Shirakawa-go has earned its place as a World Heritage site.

One day before
Train tickets and hotel voucher delivered to your hotel one day prior to departure.

Day 1. Tokyo - Takayama
Transfer to Tokyo Station on your own and board a Shinkansen Hikari super express for Nagoya leaving between 10:30-11:40. Arrive at Takayama Station between 15:10-16:20. After arrival, you're free to explore the place on your own.

Day 2. Takayama - Tokyo
Free at leisure until departure. Transfer to Takayama station on your own and board a JR express train leaving between 15:40 - 16:40 and arriving later at Nagoya. Change to a Shinkansen Nozomi super express for Tokyo and arrive at Tokyo between 20:00 - 21:40.

- Please book this tour at least 2 working days ahead of time, with information about your staying place, address, phone number and check-in date for delivering tickets. For those staying at personal residences, please give us the name of your landlord.
- For changes with your delivery address, please inform us 8 working days prior to it.
- In case of cancellations (or changes) after you've received your ticket, call the phone number on your confirmation voucher to return your ticket.
- Requests for train reservation (such as departure / arrival time, seat number) are not acceptable.
- Baggage carriage not included.
- The average temperature of Takayama in February is around minus 2 degrees centigrade. The road surface may freeze and it may be hard to walk with snow coverage. Please wear weather appropriate clothing.
