We start the tour in the capital city of Papeete, at a traditional market where Tahitians sell fish, fruits and handicrafts. Here you can feel the warm atmosphere and shop around for typical souvenirs.

Then we visit some of Papeete's sights, including the Cathedral, which offers a nice harmony of modern and old stained glass; the Vaima shopping center in central Papeete, the biggest shopping center in Tahiti; and the City Hall, a colonial palace and garden inaugurated in 1990 which has become a symbol of downtown Papeete.

We end the morning tour by visiting the Black Pearl Museum, the only museum in the world dedicated to the pearl in general and the black pearl in particular. From the shores of Egypt to those of Asia and Pacific, discover the mysteries of the pearl and the legends that surround it.

After a lunch break in the city center (not included), we will discover the fabulous wonders of the rest of Tahiti. Watch a wonderful waterfall and discover numerous tropical flowers as our guide tells you about the history of Tahiti and its inhabitants.

We will visit Venus Point, situated in the north on the edge of Matavai Bay, where European navigators landed. James Cook gave the name Venus in memory of his scientific trip to observe the planet. We will see Arahoho Blowhole, a lavatube designed by liquid lava flowing under cold and hard lava, creating a channel. When waves crash against the rocks and enter this channel, the result is a powerful sea water geyser that showers on lookers.

Walk across a bamboo plantation and follow pretty trails at the waterfalls located at Faarumai. Visit the Gauguin Museum, which shows an amazing retrospective on the life and works of Paul Gauguin, the famous French artist who spent the last twelve years of his life on Tahiti and the Marquesas Islands. Finally, we will stop at Vaipahi Garden, a place where you will see a little waterfall, some endemic Tahitian flowers, trees and other plants.
